The Future with Ceramics
The electronic field looks ahead to microminiaturization of electronic devices. Ceramic engineers will turn non-functional packaging parts into functional components of the device. To accomplish this, new ceramic materials will be developed along with new methods to process them.
The communication industry was revolutionized with the development of fibre optics. Along with microminiaturization of components will come the incorporation of
opto-electronic integrated circuits.
High temperature superconductors will open the doors to magnetic levitation vehicles, cheap electricity, and improved MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). With micro-applications of superconductors through thin film tapes in sensors and memory storage devices, the use of superconductors will take-off.
The automobile industry, which already incorporates seventy pounds of ceramics into a car, is looking to the field of ceramics to provide improved sensors of motion, gas compositions, electrical and thermal changes; as well as light weight, high strength and high temperature components for the engines. For the conservation of energy and environmental protection, ceramics seem to be a viable possibility in the use of ceramic fuel cells, batteries, photovoltaic cells, and fibre optic transmission of energy.
Besides the ceramic applications in medical diagnostic instruments, the field of bio ceramics for bone replacement and chemotherapy release capsules is here. As ceramic materials improve in terms of strength, non-reactivity, compatibility, longevity, porosity for tissue growth, and lower costs, more use of ceramic devices will be seen. |

Development of New Material, Transparent Ceramics (LUMICERATM)
 |
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed a new material (Type-Z) based on transparent ceramics (LUMICERATM) which is extremely achromatic and has a high transmittance of short wavelengths.
Murata Manufacturing have been developing transparent ceramics (LUMICERATM) with a high refractive index and with no birefringence (*1), as a result, the world's first ceramic lens was realized in 2004. While this material (Type-E) has excellent optical characteristics, it has a slight yellow tint as seen in highly refractive index glass, thereby limiting the applicable thickness.
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has been working on solving this problem and has developed a new material (Type-Z) which still maintains the excellent characteristics of Type-E.
The refractive index of Type-Z is 2.095 at the d line spectrum (587nm), higher than 2.082 for Type-E (an index for visible light is between 380nm and 780nm).
Type-Z has an excellent transmittance of light over the entire visual spectrum. It also allows the transmittance of short wavelength light at slightly below the lower end of the visual spectrum, such as i line (365nm), which commercial high refraction index glass would not transmit easily. As with Type-E, Type-Z is environmentally friendly and does not contain any environmentally hazardous substances including Pb.
The excellent physical characteristics of this material make the downsizing of optical elements possible and it is expected to be used in a wider range of applications. |

History
Dohntec Ceramics Ltd., from its beginning in 1992, has remained unwavering in its commitment to quality, uncompromising in its attention to detail and focused on being at the forefront of technology of making Ceramic Random Packing, structured packing, Molecular Sieve and Ceramic Ball.
At first only distributed in domestic markets, Dohntec introduced its products(Ceramic Random Packing, structured packing, Molecular Sieve and Ceramic Ball) to the international market in 2006. Nowadays Dohntec has become a multi-million dollar wholly owned corporation in Xiabu, Pingxiang, with a 500,000 sq.ft manufacturing facility and more over 200 well trained staff.
Ever keeping an eye on long run, Dohntec connected a gas pipeline with Pingxiang Iron&Steel company in 2000, not only did it protect the environment from pollution,it also cleared the products from impurities and blemishes. At the same time, Dohntec introduced a deferrization equipment to lower the iron contains less than 0.6%.
Dohntec aims at developing new kinds of chemical packing , and has established steady cooperative relationship with several famous universities and research institutes nationwide.
From Shanghai and Shenzhen the two main ports, Dohntec exports its products(Ceramic Random Packing, structured packing, Molecular Sieve and Ceramic Ball) to at least 20 countries all over around Europe, South East Asian, American, Middle East and Far East, we are proud to see our annual turnover surpass 5 million dollars.
Over the years we have enriched our expertise and build a solid reputation, thanks to our dynamic team, and thanks to all who support us.
